I considered stopping at a museum in the morning before heading north, but we were all tired. So instead, we went to the train station and caught the 12:34 train to Lillehammer. The train ride takes about 2 1/2 hours and costs about 300 NOK ($30 USD) for an adult ticket. Kids under 6 ride for free! My former father in law met us at the train station and brought us back to his place for the weekend.
The next day we went to Maihaugen in Lillehammer. Maihaugen is a collection of old farm buildings from around Gudbrandsdalen. They were fascinated and stood still and watched for quite some time. We finished the evening at Arne´s house, tired from all that walking!
