One of my goals for this trip was to take the kids on a boat on Oslo fjord. Fortunately, the public transportation system includes ferries to various islands and to the Nesodden peninsula. So, we hopped on the ferry and took the 30 minute trip to Nesodden where a friend of mine lives. We took a walked, stopped at a playground, and dreamed about ways to make strawberry pie. In the end, we didn´t find any pie, but we did find fresh Norwegian strawberries. I have to say, Norwegian strawberries might be the best tasting strawberries around!
That evening one of my au pair girls was celebrating her 22nd birthday. She was 5 when I took care of her! Her boyfriend invited a bunch of friends over to her mom´s house, and her mom invited us. :) It was so fun to see her again and enjoy a fun party with food, cake, and plenty of balloons to play with.
